Consider the following questions:

  • Which of the graduate school programs described were you familiar with? What information did you find surprising or interesting?
  • Consider how you are funding your undergraduate degree. What similarities or differences do you notice in how a graduate degree is funded?
  • Are you considering graduate school – either right after your undergraduate degree or later on in your career? What degree programs do you think will best fit your career goals and why?
  • As noted earlier in the chapter, most psychology majors do not complete graduate programs in psychology. Why do you think most psychology majors complete graduate degrees in business, education, social work, law, or medical professions? What similarities are there between these areas of study and psychology?
